The digital AC servo motor of the FMD (Ferrocontrol-Motor-Digital) series, together with the drive controllers from the DARC 2 product family, form very precise and highly dynamic servo drive units.
Electronic commutation
These motors are permanently excited motors with sinusoidal electronic commutation. High-resolution sine / cosine encoders in single or multi-turn design are used as feedback systems.
Recognition of the motor type
A motor type identifier is stored in the motor feedback data memory, which prevents operation with incorrect parameters.
Motor shaft
The output shaft of the motors is designed as a smooth shaft for a friction-locked shaft-scar connection as standard. A feather keyway is optionally available.
Holding brake
All motors are also available with a holding brake. It enables backlash-free clamping of the drive shaft at a standstill. The holding force of the brake is designed according to the standstill torque of the motors.
Very high operational reliability
The brushless design and the use of grease-lubricated bearings (for the entire service life) ensure very high operational reliability.
Protection class IP65
The high protection class IP65 enables operation under the most adverse environmental conditions.
Temperature monitoring – motor winding
All FMD motors are equipped with 2 temperature sensors. The evaluation takes place in the axis controller. This ensures reliable protection of the motor windings.
